Our publication checklist
- PurposeThe song has a clear, constructive idea suitable for a family or educator conversation.
- Words and meaningLyrics avoid shame, stereotypes, coercion, unsafe imitation and confusing instructions.
- Child safetyConsent, health, digital safety and physical-safety themes are expressed carefully and do not replace adult guidance.
- InclusionPeople, families, cultures and abilities are treated with dignity. Difference is not presented as a problem to fix.
- Listening qualityAudio, artwork, metadata, duration and the family listening experience are checked.
- Rights and sourceAB Kids confirms ownership, permission or an appropriate traditional/public-domain source before release.
- Release approvalAn authorised reviewer records approval before an item becomes available to families.
Traditional inspiration
Some songs begin with a familiar title, character or rhyme pattern and then tell a new story for today. We label these as modern companion songs. A reference to a traditional rhyme does not mean that the original recording is included in the AB Kids library.
Corrections and review
Content can be held back, corrected or removed when a rights, safety, quality or accuracy concern is identified. Families and educators may report a concern to hello@abkids.media.
